Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Lamentations Chapter 3; “The faithful lament their calamities, and hope in God’s mercies.Matthew Henry Concise.

What he prophet is talking about (see Lamentations 3:1-20) is strength and hope from the Lord never quits.  Suffering and temptation from God, (see Lamentations 3:21-36) will bring discipline and joy to (all believers) the saints.   Whatever we have to complain of (see Lamentations 3:37-41) should be said to God, and not about God.  No matter what sin we have committed Gods Word (see Lamentations 3:42-54) assures us that our only hope is in God.  By God’s Word we know that (see John 3:16) Jesus will save all who believe in Him. Salvation through Jesus is everlasting; just as (see Lamentations 3:55-66 ) death is eternal for all who elect to live in sin. “65 You will give them dullness of heart; your curse will be on them.  66 You will pursue them in anger and destroy them from under your heavens, O Lord.Lamentations 3:65-66 English Standard Version (ESV).   If any person lacks faith they should (see Romans 10:17) pray and seek God’s will in His Holy Word.  The Word of God teaches us that we are saved by faith in Jesus (see Ephesians 2:8-9) and not by any other person or ourselves.  4 But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4 ESV.  It is no what we eat that condemns and hurts us (see Matthew 15:11) it’s what comes out of our heart through our mouth.  As long as we are still living our hope remains (see Romans 5:2) through Jesus

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading the book of Jeremiah Chapter 23.  God promises to restore the lands of His people who declare; (see Jeremiah 23:1-8) “The Lord is our righteousness”.  God is angry with the lying Prophets who proclaim that (see Jeremiah 23:9-22) It shall be well with those who do evil and deny God.  False prophets share the deceit of their own heart (see Jeremiah 23:23-32) luring God’s people to false gods and destruction.  The rewards of false prophet, or priest and those who follow them are (see Jeremiah 23:33-40) to be destroyed along with their false gods;   39 therefore, behold, I will surely lift you up and cast you away from my presence, you and the city that I gave to you and your fathers. 40 And I will bring upon you everlasting reproach and perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.Jeremiah 22:30  English Standard Versions (ESV).    How can we know if a prophet is from God?  Hold their words and works up to the light of God’s Word (see 1 John 4:1) do those works bring Glory to God.  Look to see if they are behavior has good results (see Matthew 7:15-20) results that bring glory to God today and in the eternal life.  17 But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children, 18 to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments.Psalm 103:17-18  ESV.  Our righteousness is in Jesus (see Philippians 3:8-10) and not of ourselves.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 53. The psalmist describes the character of the ungodly.  He prays for the future of God’s people.  3 They have all fallen away;

    together they have become corrupt;

there is none who does good,

    not even one…

6 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!

When God restores the fortunes of his people,

let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.

Psalm 53:3-6 – English Standard Version (ESV).  How do we impress the love of God on the minds of our love ones?  How can we let them know that if they just trust Jesus everything will be alright (See Romans 8:28)?  How can we show them how much Jesus has in store for them? But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.Matthew 6:33  ESV.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue the Feast in II Corinthians 9.  Here we see Paul telling the Saints The reason for sending Titus to collect their donations. He reminds the Saints to be cheerful in their contributions.  8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. 9 As it is written,

“He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor;

His righteousness endures forever.”” II Corinthians 9:8-9 ESV.  When you give to help those that have need of help we are reminded, that the earth and everything in it belongs to God.  4 You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. 5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine;” Exodus 19:4-5 ESV.  When God requires anything from us He always provides the resources or funds.

Dear  Saints,

Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 16.  God has saved us, we should listen to him.  If we don’t like the leaders appointed over us we should cry out to God.  Unless a person is born again the previous two sentences would sound foolish.   Today we see the faith of Hezekiah tested, and he fails to trust God.  Then it’s just like Satan to stir up distrust in God’s people.  Hezekiah did not trust God, so the king of Assyria takes advantage of the situation and starts a campaign of lies.  30 Do not let Hezekiah make you trust in the Lord by saying, The Lord will surely deliver us, and this city will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.’ 31 Do not listen to Hezekiah, for thus says the king of Assyria: ‘Make your peace with me and come out to me. Then each one of you will eat of his own vine, and each one of his own fig tree, and each one of you will drink the water of his own cistern,“ 2nd Kings 18:30-31 English – Standard Version (ESV).   He doesn’t threaten the people; on the contrary he offers them a life of abundance.  In every case of a person questioning their faith in God, Satan will be there lying and accusing.  He doesn’t come to people as the ugly black hearted entity he is.  He comes in the form of “good sense” offering abundance and therein is the lie. “But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.” Psalm 59:16 NIV.  Saints When the going gets hard that is the time to take refuge in the Lord.  Remember faith comes by hearing the word of God. Herein is our fight and dependence on God; “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12 ESV.  Let’s keep the first thing first, salvation through Jesus, the Lamb of God.  Put on that helmet of salvation and listen with spiritually tuned eyes and ears.  Look to see from whom the message comes.

LIVING THE CHRISTIAN LIFE- (WED JAN 30, 2013)

SCRIPTURE: 2 PETER 1:5-11

5 ¶ so don’t lose a minute in building on what you’ve been given, complementing your basic faith with good character, spiritual understanding,

6 alert discipline, passionate patience, reverent wonder,

7 warm friendliness, and generous love, each dimension fitting into and developing the others.

8 With these qualities active and growing in your lives, no grass will grow under your feet; no day will pass without its reward as you mature in your experience of our Master Jesus.

9 Without these qualities you can’t see what’s right before you, oblivious that your old sinful life has been wiped off the books.

10 So, friends, confirm God’s invitation to you, his choice of you. Don’t put it off; do it now. Do this and you’ll have your life on a firm footing,

11 the streets paved and the way wide open into the eternal kingdom of our Master and Savior, Jesus Christ.

DEVOTIONAL:  “BUILDING YOUR LIFE”

There is not a minute to waste. Let the construction of our life begin. We have the Master Architect in Jesus Christ. Our job is to build on the foundation of faith in Jesus and to allow the Holy Spirit to give us spiritual understanding. The following are the levels of the building that God wants to build in our life.

1.     Alert Discipline

2.     Passionate Patience.

3.     Warm Friendliness

4.     Generous Love.

5.     Each quality active and growing in your life.

We are instructed to accept God’s invitation and we experience a firm footing and streets paved and the way open into the eternal kingdom of our Lord

.

PRAYER THOUGHT: Dear Jesus please help us to cooperate in building these attributes and reflecting your love to the lost. Amen

Dear  Saints,

Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 12.  Jehoash orders the money that had been collected to be used to pay the workmen for the repair of the temple.  Jehoash started out with great faith doing right in the eyes of the Lord.  In the end he puts his faith in an earthly king and he is slain by his servants.   20 His servants arose and made a conspiracy and struck down Joash in the house of Millo, on the way that goes down to Silla. 21 It was Jozacar the son of Shimeath and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, who struck him down, so that he died. And they buried him with his fathers in the city of David, and Amaziah his son reigned in his place. 2nd Kings 12:20-21 English – Standard Version (ESV).  Those of us that are put in authority in any situation are responsible to the Lord.  Whether you are the head of the country or responsible for cleaning the ashtrays.  We may be the CEO of a fortune 500 company or a child’s nanny; in either way we are responsible to put God first.  Trust God before any earthly help or guidance.  God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24 ESV.  Whether we are serving God or an earthly master do so as you are serving God in every instance.  On the job or in the church, in public or with our family be true and keep the first thing first.  This is salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus.  In doing the right thing all the time your very life is a light to those seeking God and pleasing to the Lord.    Please God first and you will truly be pleasing to those around you.

Dear  Saints,

Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 6.  While the sons of the prophets enlarge their abodes, one of them drops an ax in the water.  God’s prophet throws a sick in the water and the iron ax head floats to the top for retrieval. Elisha knows God will deliver him even when others cannot see it. “15 When the servant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. And the servant said, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” 16 He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.  “Samaria besieged, A famine, The king sends to slay Elisha.  2 Kings 5:15-17 English Standard Version (ESV).  32 Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him. Now the king had dispatched a man from his presence, but before the messenger arrived Elisha said to the elders, “Do you see how this murderer has sent to take off my head? Look, when the messenger comes, shut the door and hold the door fast against him. Is not the sound of his master’s feet behind him?” 33 And while he was still speaking with them, the messenger came down to him and said, “This trouble is from the Lord! Why should I wait for the Lord any longer?” 2 Kings 5:25-27 English Standard Version (ESV).   Why should I wait on the Lord?  Just as God restored the ax head, he will protect you.  Don’t get upset when the messenger brings bad news.  Ask God to open your eyes to show you how you are protected.  Trust God and wait on him!  “[Ask, and It Will Be Given] “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8 ESV.  While you are depending and waiting on God you can talk to Him.  Do his will and ask Him for you needs.    Keep the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus.  Look back at God’s track record with Elisha.  Jesus gave you salvation and his Word.  He will never leave nor forsake you. Glory to God!

Dear  Saints,

Today we prayerfully read in, 1 Kings 10.  God gives Solomon wisdom, and people flock to see him in adoration of this Godly gift.  23 Thus King Solomon excelled all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom. 24 And the whole earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put into his mind.  1 Kings 10:23-24.  English Standard Version (ESV).   God gave all who accept it, the gift of salvation.  How we display this gift is important to God.  Just as King Solomon let his gift display his love of God, we need to humbly display our gift of salvation.  He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8 ESV.  If we humbly walk displaying our gifts from God people will flock to us to hear about our relationship with Jesus.  Humbly share your gift in love keeping the first thing first. That is the gift of God, salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus.  Just living a Godly life will be a witness of what Jesus has done for you.  Then people will gladly seek the gift we have found, not religion a relationship with Jesus.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS CALLING        01/04/13 # 451

1 Corinthians 2:14-16 (New International Version)

14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man’s judgment: 16 "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

Sit down and ask the Holy Spirit to come into your life so you can understand what God wants you to do. For the Holy Spirit is your guide to understanding God’s word.

Let all the people Rejoice and praise Him.

Read God’s word with Prayer. Read His word every chance you get.

This is inspired by the Holy Spirit. Praise God.

Dear  Saints,

Today we prayerfully read in, 1 Kings 9.  God warns Solomon, and his people might not be high-minded, but to continue to be God fearing.  Sometimes as congregations have been mightily blessed they tend to think that they have more liberties than those less blessed.  God is saying it would be better for Him to chasten them, than for them to go on with ease and prosperity in sin.  3 And the Lord said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your plea, which you have made before me. I have consecrated this house that you have built, by putting my name there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time. 4 And as for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, with integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you, and keeping my statutes and my rules,…  1 Kings 9:3-4.  English Standard Version (ESV).   God will bless us but we must still serve and praise Him.  He doesn’t want religious people nor should we turn our Church building into a club house, exclusive from those less blessed.  The way we please God is continuing to love Him, and share that love with as many as possible.  For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,” Titus 2:11-12 ESV.  We continue to serve God, as we keep the first thing first. That is the gift of God, salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus.  We don’t think that we have the corner on God because he is blessing us.  The best religion is the ones that continue to love, praise and serve God, in Jesus precious name.

Eyes on the Finish Line!

As I believe we are living in the last days we should always remember how important it is to stay in the race.

Scripture Daniel 12:11-13 (NIV)

“11 “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days. 13 “As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.” Daniel 12:11-13 NIV

We must finish the race!

God Bless you,

Brother Mike

Merry Christmas From Mike & Sandy

To You and your family!

Glory to God in the highest,

And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!

Dec 24 & 25_2012 Christmas

Luke 2:1-20

Dear Saints,

The Birth of Jesus Christ

1 In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. 2 This was the first registration when Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3 And all went to be registered, each to his own town. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. 6 And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. 7 And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

The Shepherds and the Angels

8 And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. 10 And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest,

and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

15 When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. 17 And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child. 18 And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.Luke 2:1-20 English Standard Version (ESV).

Have a Blessed Christmas,

The Stanford Family
