Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully and faithfully continue the Feast in 1 Samuel Chapter 2; Hannah’s song of thanksgiving. (1-10) The wickedness of Eli’s sons, Samuel’s ministry. (11-26) The prophecy against Eli’s family. (27-36)” – Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we see, Hannah’s prayer or song of thanksgiving including her appraisal of the Lord. We visit the wickedness of Eli’s sons, Samuel’s ministry. The prophecy against Eli’s family. In the first two verses she accurately describes our awesome God. “1 And Hannah prayed and said, “My heart exults in the LORD; my strength is exalted in the LORD. My mouth derides my enemies, because I rejoice in your salvation. 2 “There is none holy like the LORD; there is none besides you; there is no rock like our God.I Samuel 2:1-2, ESV. There is no other who is worthy of our praise. Worthy is the Lamb;6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.John 14:6, ESV. If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow. Continue to keep the first thing first! That is salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. 11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.Matthew 5:11-12, ESV. Father Please heal those who survived the attacks in France, bring resolution and peace to those who lost loved ones. Father please let your perfect will be done with the Islamic radicals everywhere. Amen!

18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,1 Peter 3:18, English Standard Version (ESV).

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully and faithfully continue the Feast in 1 Samuel Chapter 1; In this book we have an account of Eli, and the wickedness of his sons; also of Samuel, his character and actions. Then of the advancement of Saul to be the king of Israel, and his ill behaviour, until his death made way for David’s succession to the throne, who was an eminent type of Christ. David’s patience, modesty, constancy, persecution by open enemies and feigned friends, are a pattern and example to the church, and to every member of it. Many things in this book encourage the faith, hope, and patience of the suffering believer. It contains also many useful cautions and awful warnings.

Elkanah and his family. (1-8) Hannah’s prayer. (9-18) Samuel, Hannah presents him to the Lord. (19-28)” – Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we see Hannah’s earnest prayer for a son. When the son Samuel is weaned, Hannah presents him to the Lord. “26 And she said, “Oh, my lord! As you live, my lord, I am the woman who was standing here in your presence, praying to the Lord. 27 For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him. 28 Therefore I have lent him to the Lord. As long as he lives, he is lent to the Lord.”

And he worshiped the Lord thereI Samuel 1:26-28, ESV.

When we earnestly ask God for anything in his will and he gives it to us! It’s time for free nations everywhere (just as Hannah did) to earnestly turn to God. That’s the only way radicals and ungodly people will be stopped in their tracks! God gave us a promise and it’s up to us to receive God’s promise by, praying in Jesus name; “14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.2 Chronicles 7:14, ESV. If we are faithful to wait on the Lord he will lead us and keep us in his ways. Let’s keep the first thing first! That is salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

As we read Ruth chapter four we see, The kinsman refuses to redeem Ruth’s inheritance. Boaz redeems and marries Ruth. The birth of Obed, is putting his linage into the line of David. “18 Now these are the generations of Perez: Perez fathered Hezron, 19 Hezron fathered Ram, Ram fathered Amminadab, 20 Amminadab fathered Nahshon, Nahshon fathered Salmon, 21 Salmon fathered Boaz, Boaz fathered Obed, 22 Obed fathered Jesse, and Jesse fathered David.Ruth 4:18-22, ESV. As we open the third chapter in Ruth we see, the directions given to Ruth by Naomi. Boaz acknowledges the duty of a kinsman and redeemer. Ruth’s return to her mother-in-law. Here Naomi exposes an example of the value of waiting on the Lord. “16 And when she came to her mother-in-law, she said, “How did you fare, my daughter?” Then she told her all that the man had done for her, 17 saying, “These six measures of barley he gave to me, for he said to me, ‘You must not go back empty-handed to your mother-in-law.’” 18 She replied, “Wait, my daughter, until you learn how the matter turns out, for the man will not rest but will settle the matter today.”Ruth 3:16-18, ESV. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.1 John 2:15-16, English Standard Version (ESV).

Dear Saints,

As we open the second chapter in Ruth we see, an example of people watching you as your light shines. “10 Then she fell on her face, bowing to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?” 11 But Boaz answered her, “All that you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband has been fully told to me, and how you left your father and mother and your native land and came to a people that you did not know before. 12 The Lord repay you for what you have done, and a full reward be given you by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge!”Ruth 2:10-12, ESV. Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue the Feast in Ruth Chapter 1; We find in this book excellent examples of faith, piety, patience, humility, industry, and loving-kindness, in the common events of life. Also we see the special care which God’s providence take of our smallest concerns, encouraging us to full trust therein. We may view this book as a beautiful, because natural representation of human life; as a curious detail of important facts; and as a part of the plan of redemption.

Elimelech and his sons die in the land of Moab. (1-5) Naomi returns home. (6-14) Orpah stays behind, but Ruth goes with Naomi. (15-18) They come to Bethlehem. (19-22)” – Matthew Henry Concise.

Here we see a family that left their homeland without consulting God;1 During the days when the judges ruled, there was a famine in the land. A man with his wife and two sons went from Bethlehem of Judah to dwell in the territory of Moab. 2 The name of that man was Elimelech, the name of his wife was Naomi, and the names of his two sons were Mahlon and Chilion. They were Ephrathites from Bethlehem in Judah. They entered the territory of Moab and settled there.Ruth 1:1-2, ESV. As we continue in Ruth we see the folly of making a move without praying to and waiting on God for His answer;3 But Elimelech, the husband of Naomi, died, and she was left with her two sons. 4 These took Moabite wives; the name of the one was Orpah and the name of the other Ruth. They lived there about ten years, 5 and both Mahlon and Chilion died, so that the woman was left without her two sons and her husband.Ruth 1:3-5, ESV. Here they are widowed in the land of strangers. Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue the Feast in John Chapter 21; Christ appears to his disciples. (1-14) His discourse with Peter. (15-19) Christ’s declaration concerning John. (20-24) The conclusion. (25)” – Matthew Henry Concise.

Our Lord Jesus makes a declaration concerning John. The conclusion makes a profound statement about all that has been revealed in the book of John. “25 Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.John 21:25, ESV. What do you think that this ending means to us the believers? I think it may mean that the Lord has revealed enough so that any who hears it should believe in Jesus. If he wrote about enough of Jesus miracles to fill the whole earth, those that are not convinced that Jesus is Lord wouldn’t change their mind. Sometimes we need to realize when to be content with what the Lord has given us. It’s as if to say there is no more that can be said or done to win our soul. What Christ has done for us should be sufficient more just isn’t justified. “8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.2 Corinthians 12:8-10, ESV. With this in mind we may want to look at our position in God’s life and our part in the Church and ask, what can I do Lord. Pray read God’s Word and seek his purpose for your life. “8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.Philippians 4:8-9, ESV. Continue to prayerfully read God’s Word everyday. That’s how we continue to grow in love, faith and grace. “3 And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.Deuteronomy 8:3, ESV. Let’s continue to Feast together and keep the first thing first! That is salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.
