Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 23; “Paul’s defence before the council of the Jews. (1-5) Paul’s defence. He receives a Divine assurance that he shall go to Rome. (6-11) The Jews conspire to kill Paul, Lysias sends him to Cesarea. (12-24) Lysias’s letter to Felix.(25-35)” – Matthew Henry Concise.

In Paul’s defense before the council of the Jews, he tells them he has led a godly life and obeys the law. Paul’s defense includes the fact that he is a Pharisee. The Council started arguing amongst themselves because it is made up of both Pharisees and Sadducees. This was because the Pharisees believe in the resurrection and the Sadducees are sad you see because they don’t. God tells Paul that he shall go to Rome. The Jews inter into a pact to kill Paul, so Lysias sends him to Cesarea. Lysias’s letter is delivered along with Paul to Felix. ”31 So the soldiers, according to their instructions, took Paul and brought him by night to Antipatris. 32 And on the next day they returned to the barracks, letting the horsemen go on with him. 33 When they had come to Caesarea and delivered the letter to the governor, they presented Paul also before him. 34 On reading the letter, he asked what province he was from. And when he learned that he was from Cilicia, 35 he said, “I will give you a hearing when your accusers arrive.” And he commanded him to be guarded in Herod’s praetorium.” Acts 23:31-35, ESV. What the soldiers did they do because it was their duty not because they cared about Paul. Paul was delivered to Felix because as a Roman citizen it was his right. The reason Paul was imprisoned was he lived, as a soldier in duty to Jesus, not in privilege because of his rights. “68 “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people 69 and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David, 70 as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old,” Luke 1:68-70, ESV. Let your duty to God guide you rather than your rights at a citizen. You have the right to disregard people because you don’t like them. You have a duty to share God’s love with them because you have been saved; you are adopted into God’s family. Continue to keep the first thing first, salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus. It may be easier not to be bothered by beggars, but it is better to share the greatness of God. It is better to do your duty to God, than to express your rights as a citizen, when it comes to serving Jesus! If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 22; “Paul’s account of his conversion. (1-11) Paul directed to preach to the Gentiles. (12-21) The rage of the Jews Paul pleads that he is a Roman citizen. (22-30)” – Matthew Henry Concise.

Paul recounts details of attacks on those of the Way and gives an account of his conversion. Paul is converted and directed to preach to the Gentiles. The rage of the Jews Paul pleads that he is a Roman citizen. ”30 But on the next day, desiring to know the real reason why he was being accused by the Jews, he unbound him and commanded the chief priests and all the council to meet, and he brought Paul down and set him before them.” Acts 22:30, ESV. What another a cliff hanger? Yes the last verse in chapter 22 wets our appetite for chapter 23. There is however plenty of information about Paul’s zealous attacks on the Way. Also we see his commission to carry the good news to the Gentiles. “But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”” Matthew 1:20-21, ESV. Hearing this story of Mary and Josephs commission to nurture the Messiah Christ, remember you and I have been commissioned to carry this good news to the world. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” Matthew 28:19, ESV. It is very important to share your light with the world. We keep the first thing first, salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus. Carrying the gospel of Jesus with a smile. If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 21; “Paul’s voyage towards Jerusalem. (1-7) Paul at Cesarea. The prophecy of Agabus, Paul at Jerusalem. (8-18) He is persuaded to join in ceremonial observances. (19-26) Being in danger from the Jews, he is rescued by the Romans. (27-40)” – Matthew Henry Concise.

As Paul’s voyage moves towards Jerusalem the disciples, were telling Paul not to go on to Jerusalem. Paul stays with Philip the evangelist, at Cesarea. The prophecy of Agabus, see’s Paul at Jerusalem being bound with his own belt and delivered to the Gentiles. He is persuaded to join in purification ceremonies. Being in danger from the Jews, as a citizen of Rome, he is rescued by the Romans. Then we are left with a cliff hanger. ”37 As Paul was about to be brought into the barracks, he said to the tribune, “May I say something to you?” And he said, “Do you know Greek? 38 Are you not the Egyptian, then, who recently stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand men of the Assassins out into the wilderness?” 39 Paul replied, “I am a Jew, from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no obscure city. I beg you, permit me to speak to the people.” 40 And when he had given him permission, Paul, standing on the steps, motioned with his hand to the people. And when there was a great hush, he addressed them in the Hebrew language, saying:Acts 21:37-40, ESV. What was Paul speaking of in Hebrew? When I was a child they had Saturday matinees that ended with the hero or heroine in peril. You wouldn’t know what happens until the next week. Hence a cliff hanger. Sometimes the Holy Spirit will, let you know when to end a testimony with a question unanswered. This would leave the object(s) of your testimony with a reason to return to hear more. “[Mary’s Song of Praise: The Magnificat] And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.Luke 1:46-47, 49, ESV. Let your testimony magnify Christ Jesus. Tell the object of your testimony that God has done great things in your life. Listen to the Holy Spirit, maybe you will have to wait for the person(s) to return before you tell them all the details of what God has done for you. For now we will continue to keep the first thing first, salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus. It may be better to let them go to ponder the greatness of God. It is possible that one plants the seed another comes to water it. If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 20; “Paul’s journeys. (1-6) Eutychus restored to life. (7-12) Paul travels towards Jerusalem. (13-16) Paul’s discourse to the elders of Ephesus. (17-27) Their farewell. (28-38)” – Matthew Henry Concise.

Paul’s travels about Macedonia and Greece preaching the gospel. Eutychus fell from the third story and was restored to life. Paul passing Ephesus to go towards Jerusalem to be there for the day of Pentecost. Paul’s addresses the elders of Ephesus, telling them to protect the church of God. Their emotional and prayerful farewell. ”35 In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ 36 And when he had said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all. 37 And there was much weeping on the part of all; they embraced Paul and kissed him, 38 being sorrowful most of all because of the word he had spoken, that they would not see his face again. And they accompanied him to the ship.” Acts 20:35-38, ESV. Emotional farewells and some uncertainties, come to all of us who are, blessed to the point of sharing the love of Jesus. “And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”” Luke 1:30-33, ESV. Sharing this gift from God telling as many as possible, we know we will be reunited on the return of Christ. He himself will wipe the tears of sorrow from our eyes. So we continue to keep the first thing first, salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus. Carrying the gospel wherever God takes us. If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.”  Ephesians 6:12-13, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 19; “Paul instructs the disciples of John at Ephesus. (1-7) He teaches there. (8-12) The Jewish exorcists disgraced. Some Ephesians burn their evil books. (13-20) The tumult at Ephesus. (21-31) The tumult appeased. (32-41)” – Matthew Henry Concise.

Fellow followers of the Way, today we prayerfully read in, Acts 19. Paul instructs the disciples of John concerning Jesus and they are filled with the Holy Spirit at Ephesus. He teaches them by reasoning with them concerning the Messiah. The Jewish exorcists are disgraced, when they use magic arts. Some of the Ephesians convinced that Jesus is the Way, burned their evil books. The Ephesians are up in arms; they feel that the way in intruding on the living they make in magic arts and making of idols at Ephesus. The tumult appeased; “35 And when the town clerk had quieted the crowd, he said, “Men of Ephesus, who is there who does not know that the city of the Ephesians is temple keeper of the great Artemis, and of the sacred stone that fell from the sky? 36 Seeing then that these things cannot be denied, you ought to be quiet and do nothing rash. 37 For you have brought these men here who are neither sacrilegious nor blasphemers of our goddess. 38 If therefore Demetrius and the craftsmen with him have a complaint against anyone, the courts are open, and there are proconsuls. Let them bring charges against one another. 39 But if you seek anything further, it shall be settled in the regular assembly. 40 For we really are in danger of being charged with rioting today, since there is no cause that we can give to justify this commotion.” 41 And when he had said these things, he dismissed the assembly.” Acts 19:35-41, ESV. Sometimes common sense takes over and men finding the Way see the evil in their own lives. Here they realized that the disciples are not attacking them for their sins. They are merely sharing the love of Jesus. “[Birth of Jesus Foretold] In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin’s name was Mary. And he came to her and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!”” Luke 1:26-28, ESV. Share the gift of eternal life through our Lord Jesus. He is the Savior of all persons, whoever accepts his love. Keep the first thing first, salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus. When the sinner turns to the light, and accept Him, Jesus will save them from their sins. If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 18; “Paul at Corinth, with Aquila and Priscilla. (1-6) He continues to preach at Corinth. (7-11) Paul before Gallio. (12-17) He visits Jerusalem. (18-23) Apollos teaches at Ephesus and in Achaia. (24-28)” – Matthew Henry Concise.

Paul is staying in Corinth, with fellow tent makers Aquila and Priscilla. Paul trusts God and continues to preach at Corinth. Paul went before Gallio, who was indifferent to the gospel, didn’t consider Paul’s actions to be serious enough for punishment. He returns to Antioch, continuing to build the believers faith. Apollos teaches at Ephesus and in Achaia. “24 Now a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was an eloquent man, competent in the Scriptures. 25 He had been instructed in the way of the Lord. And being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, though he knew only the baptism of John. 26 He began to speak boldly in the synagogue, but when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately. 27 And when he wished to cross to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples to welcome him. When he arrived, he greatly helped those who through grace had believed, 28 for he powerfully refuted the Jews in public, showing by the Scriptures that the Christ was Jesus.” Acts 18:24-28, ESV. Priscilla and Aquila heard Apollos he was telling people to believe in Jesus. He only knew the baptism of John, rather than disagreeing with him they took him aside and and taught him. The lesson here is rather than causing a roe because you don’t agree with a saint, reason with them in private. Encouraging the saint in the love of Jesus. “and assembling all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. They told him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by the prophet: “‘And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for from you shall come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’”” Matthew 2:4-6, ESV. Jesus is the Savior of all persons. Encourage people in his love! Keep the first thing first, that is salvation paid for, in full by our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 17; “Paul at Thessalonica. (1-9) The noble conduct of the Bereans. (10-15) Paul at Athens. (16-21) He preaches there.(22-31) The scornful conduct of the Athenians. (32-34)” – Matthew Henry Concise.

Paul preaching and teaching at Thessalonica. The Bereans are more serious than those at Thessalonica. Paul is always preaching and teaching about Jesus, Athens is no exception. He preaches there using their religious superstition to teach them about Jesus. The scornful conduct of the Athenians. “32 Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked. But others said, “We will hear you again about this.” 33 So Paul went out from their midst. 34 But some men joined him and believed, among whom also were Dionysius the Areopagite and a woman named Damaris and others with them.” Acts 17:32-34, ESV. Wherever Paul went he was telling people to believe in Jesus. Why would he do that? I’d say that the love of Jesus and the forgiveness of sin are the best part of life. “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.” Galatians 4:4-5, ESV. Jesus gives every believer the best life they can have. That includes our adoption into the family of God. Keep the first thing first, that is salvation paid for, in full by our Lord Jesus Christ. How can anyone accept this gift without sharing it? If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow

You’ll find the praise and prayer list at; admenu.com/prayer.html.  Prayer request or Praise reports can be sent to brother Mike at;  mike@admenu.com

Don’t get caught up in “religion”, it is about a relationship. Our salvation depends completely on God! We are the Saints that Jesus sacrificed his life to pay in full for our sin, when we repent and accept Jesus. He will come to get every Saint; “36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.” Matthew 24:36, ESV. We are building our relationship with Jesus right now, do not wait while you try to change anything.  Click this link for more information; admenu.com/calling.htm .
