June 30, 2014-Hebrews 4
Jesus The Great High Priest
“7 But he emptied himself by taking the form of a slave and by becoming like human beings. When he found himself in the form of a human,” Philippians 2:7
Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Hebrews Chapter 4; “Humble, cautious fear is urged, lest any should come short of the promised rest, through unbelief.(1-10) Arguments and motives to faith and hope in our approaches to God. (11-16)” – Matthew Henry Concise.
God’s promises us we will enter into His rest therefor we must be diligent (see Hebrews 4:1) to hold on to and share our faith. Jesus is our great high priest, (see Hebrews 4:14) , hold on to what we have said about him. “15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:15-16 English Standard Version (ESV). Do what you have been called to do loving both God and your neighbors “37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-39 ESV. It is imperative that we hold onto and stress that (see Romans 1:28-31) that is the day of salvation, while we can still hear Jesus our great and high priest calling.
