Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 56. David turns to God, when the Philistines seized him in Gath. He performs his vows to God, offering thanksgiving.  He give God glory for delivering his soul from death.  10 In God, whose word I praise,

    in the Lord, whose word I praise,

11 in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.

    What can man do to me?   Psalm 56:10-11 – English Standard Version (ESV).  Right now we live in Governments that are bankrupt.  Not just physically but in some instances morally.  What do we see in a government that claims “In God We Trust” while the judges of that land are passing laws that approves what God calls a sinful abomination (See Romans 1:18-32). The politicians and industrialists would rather bankrupt the country than care for the health of all of the people!  Why would God’s people put their faith in the government of any country, army or industry before God?  Like David we should truly be trusting in God, not in the institutions of men.  Trust in God because he is the only one who loves you!  And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,Philippians 1:9-10 ESV.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 55. David turns to God in his hour of need. He draws near to God to soothe his heart and mind.  David knows God holds the key to life unaffected by enemies and evil.  23 But you, O God, will cast them down

    into the pit of destruction;

men of blood and treachery

    shall not live out half their days.

But I will trust in you.   Psalm 55:23 – English Standard Version (ESV).  God the Father wants to defend you in your hour of need.  God sent His only begotten son as ransom for your life (See John 3:16). You can live free of evil, sin and He will overcome your enemies.  It’s up to you to turn to God and accept Jesus’ gift of life, love and peace.  Why would anyone reject God’s love?   For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”John 3:20-21  ESV.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 54. David laments men cannot be trusted.  Give thanksgiving and faith freely to God.  6 With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you;

    I will give thanks to your name, O Lord, for it is good.

7 For he has delivered me from every trouble,

    and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies.   Psalm 54:3-6 – English Standard Version (ESV).  If you look to men for delivery from your troubles you’ll only find disappointment.  Give your trust and thanksgiving to Jesus.  There is no other who will deliver you from your troubles and give you peace (See Acts 4:12).   14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.1 Corinthians 2:14 ESV.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 53. The psalmist describes the character of the ungodly.  He prays for the future of God’s people.  3 They have all fallen away;

    together they have become corrupt;

there is none who does good,

    not even one…

6 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!

    When God restores the fortunes of his people,

    let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.

   Psalm 53:3-6 – English Standard Version (ESV).  How do we impress the love of God on the minds of our love ones?  How can we let them know that if they just trust Jesus everything will be alright (See Romans 8:28)?  How can we show them how much Jesus has in store for them? But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.Matthew 6:33  ESV.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 52. The psalmist describes the character of the wicked. He demonstrates the character of a person who is living a godly life truly thankful to God!  I will thank you forever,

    because you have done it.

I will wait for your name, for it is good,

    in the presence of the godly.   Psalm 52:15-17 – English Standard Version (ESV).  The way we live our life says more about our character than the words we speak!  Don’t rail against government or worry about politics, seek Jesus and his righteousness (See Matthew 6:33).  In all things Jesus is our advocate and savior. For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:30-31 ESV.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 51. Here We see the leader of a nation broken down his heart in his hand seeking God’s forgiveness. David is revealing his heart to God. He is truly repentant of where his sinful flesh has put him.  15 O Lord, open my lips,

    and my mouth will declare your praise.

16 For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it;

    you will not be pleased with a burnt offering.

17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;

    a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.   Psalm 51:15-17 – English Standard Version (ESV).  I know our leaders need to do the same for our governments to please God.  Saints we have a responsibility in the direction our nation is going!  Should we complain and harden our hearts because we feel our politicians have betrayed us?  They won’t listen to us!  How can we get through to them? Are we pleasing Jesus (see John 14:15)? The answer is here in God’s Word, pray listen to the Holy Spirit reminding us what our responsibility is;if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV.  As Christians it’s up to us to seek God in the name of Jesus, with truly repentant hearts.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 50. The psalmist entreats the “Rich Man”, God doesn’t want your money or sacrifice.  God owns the world and everything in it. “22 “Mark this, then, you who forget God,

    lest I tear you apart, and there be none to deliver!

23 The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me;

    to one who orders his way rightly

    I will show the salvation of God!””   Psalm 50:22-23 – English Standard Version (ESV).  Our Lord wants your heartfelt (sincere) thanksgiving!

 Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.Hebrews 10:35-36 ESV.
