Dear  Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in 1 Chronicles 18.   King David was blessed by God wherever he went, even unto war.  It was no secrete he consulted God before he did anything.  David trusted God, he had faith that God was true to his word.  David surrounded himself with believers; “14 So David reigned over all Israel, and he administered justice and equity to all his people. 15 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder; 16 and Zadok the son of Ahitub and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar were priests; and Shavsha was secretary; 17 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were the chief officials in the service of the king.” 1 Chronicles 18:14-17, English Standard Version (ESV).  God never changes, if we trust Him and consult Him another words have a relationship with Jesus, then God will bless us.  for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7 ESV.    If your considering asking Jesus for anything, keep in mind he laid down his life for us.   Keep the first thing first; that is salvation paid for by Jesus.  There is victory in Jesus in His power.  When we turn from sin to Jesus, what are we giving up?  Think about it, you’re giving up what you can’t keep.  What is that?  A temporary life filled with sin!  What for?  An eternal life, filled with bliss!

Dear  Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in 1 Chronicles 17.   King David is of a mind to build a proper house.  The Lord our God stopped him.  He revealed to David that He would build a home for him; “25 “You, my God, have revealed to your servant that you will build a house for him. So your servant has found courage to pray to you. 26 You, Lord, are God! You have promised these good things to your servant. 27 Now you have been pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever in your sight; for you, Lord, have blessed it, and it will be blessed forever.”” 1 Chronicles 17:25-27, English Standard Version (ESV).  God promised to take care of David just as he has promised for you and me. Like David we should be ready to serve God in our actions.  Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. 1 John 3:18 ESV.    As we serve our Lord Jesus, we should make sure that we walk truthfully in His light.   Keeping the first thing first; that is salvation through the blood of the Lamb.  Be ready at all times to purposely serve God in word and deed.

Devotional 02262013, Love Of God Series: By Pastor Glen Aycock. Posted 2/27/2013

<></>

LOVE OF GOD SERIES:

SCRIPTURE: JOHN 17: 17- 26

17 ¶ Make them holy—consecrated—with the truth; your word is consecrating truth.

18 In the same way that you gave me a mission in the world, I give them a mission in the world.

19 I’m consecrating myself for their sakes so they’ll be truth-consecrated in their mission.

20 ¶ I’m praying not only for them but also for those who will believe in me Because of them and their witness about me.

21  The goal is for all of them to become one heart and mind—Just as you, Father, are in me and I in you, So they might be one heart and mind with us. Then the world might believe that you, in fact, sent me.

22 The same glory you gave me, I gave them, so they’ll be as unified and together as we are—

23 I in them and you in me. Then they’ll be mature in this oneness, and give the godless world evidence that you’ve sent me and loved them in the same way you’ve loved me.

24 ¶  Father, I want those you gave me To be with me, right where I am, So they can see my glory, the splendor you gave me, Having loved me Long before there ever was a world.

25 Righteous Father, the world has never known you, But I have known you, and these disciples know That you sent me on this mission.

26 I have made your very being known to them—Who you are and what you do—And continue to make it known, So that your love for me Might be in them Exactly as I am in them.

Loved like God Loved Jesus

As a young man I used to get love letters and I cherished those letters. I built a special letter box with a lock so they were reserved for my eyes only. From time to time I would pull them out and read them to reassure that I was loved. That was a puppy love experience but my relationship with Christ is real love. Christ prayed for me:

• “Make him Holy, Consecrated (set apart for service).

• Give Him a Mission in the World.

• Give Him Maturity in oneness in the Spirit.

• “I want you to love them like me”.

PRAYER THOUGHT: Dear Jesus, let everyone who reads this devotional realize that this is what God prayed especially for them. Thank you Jesus. Amen.

God Bless you,

Brother Mike

Dear  Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in 1 Chronicles 16.   King David was generous to his subjects, because he recognized God’s grace to him.  He brought order and reverence to the thanksgiving and praising of God. “35 Say also:

“Save us, O God of our salvation,

and gather and deliver us from among the nations,

that we may give thanks to your holy name

    and glory in your praise.

36 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,

    from everlasting to everlasting!”

Then all the people said, “Amen!” and praised the Lord.” 1 Chronicles 16:35-36, English Standard Version (ESV).  I hear this saying often; “What goes around comes around!”  It seems that King David really had a handle on that.  He was a man after God’s heart.   In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.” 1 John 4:9 ESV  When we deal with others who are not yet saved keep in mind the grace of God by which we were saved.   Keep the first thing first; that is salvation through the blood of the Lamb.  Our righteousness is in Jesus and not of ourselves.

Dear  Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in 1 Chronicles 15.   King David realizes that he made mistakes when he moved the Ark the first time.  He owned up to his sin repented of and followed God’s rule the second time.  What a glorious day it was.  God’s people where celebrating and praising God as they brought the Ark of the Covenant into Jerusalem.  You would think everyone would be celebrating and happy to see the ark enter the city.  That was not the case; “29 And as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David dancing and celebrating, and she despised him in her heart.” 1 Chronicles 15:29, English Standard Version (ESV).  When people see you being blessed and you are giving God the glory, if they don’t know Jesus they may despise and think you are a fool.   And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”  Matthew 22:37-39 ESV.  Don’t let what others say or do discourage you, continue to love the Lord with all your strength.  Pray for those who defame or abuse you.  Continue to keep the first thing first; that is salvation through the blood of the Lamb. We are blessed when people abuse us for our faith in Jesus.  and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. Matthew 10:22 ESV.  Pick yourself up and get back in the race.

Dear  Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in 1 Chronicles 14.   We see King David never carries out a plan without consulting God.  Notice the second time the Philistine attacked God said you shall not go up after them; “13 And the Philistines yet again made a raid in the valley. 14 And when David again inquired of God, God said to him, “You shall not go up after them; go around and come against them opposite the balsam trees. 15 And when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to strike down the army of the Philistines.””1 Chronicles 14:13-15, English Standard Version (ESV).  God did not stop King David from amassing his army for the attack.  God simply told them to take another path and God took down the Philistines for them.    For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13 ESV.  Saints before we take any action we must consult God.  Keep the first thing first; that is salvation through the blood of the Lamb. The scripture tells us that Jesus had plans for each of us, before we even asked Him into our hearts.

Dear  Saints,

Today we prayerfully read the Feast in 1 Chronicles 13.   King David and all of Israel were of a single mind.  They were bringing home the ark of the covenant.   They were celebrating before God with all their might, with song and musical instruments; “9 And when they came to the threshing floor of Chidon, Uzzah put out his hand to take hold of the ark, for the oxen stumbled. 10 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah, and he struck him down because he put out his hand to the ark, and he died there before God.”1 Chronicles 13:9-10, English Standard Version (ESV). Uzzah was celebrating like everyone else. He was doing the same as those around him, when he died.  David was upset with God for taking Uzzah.  Now God had warned the Israelites that they would die if they touched the ark.  Even though Uzzah was helping to bring home the ark when he touched it should God have let home live?  No if he didn’t take Uzzah God would be a liar.  Should David have been mad at or afraid of God?  I don’t think so you see not only can’t God lie, God sees life beyond death differently than us.  Do they not go astray who devise evil? Those who devise good meet steadfast love and faithfulness.”  Proverbs 14:22 ESV.  Saints I must say God isn’t a liar; he is God which means he is good through and through.  We must know God never changes!  If we do well and keep the first thing first.  That is salvation through the blood of the Lamb. If we love Jesus and fear God sharing his love with others; that is the means that justifies the end!

Dear  Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in 1 Chronicles 12.   All these people came to Hebron to make David king; “38 All these, men of war, arrayed in battle order, came to Hebron with a whole heart to make David king over all Israel. Likewise, all the rest of Israel were of a single mind to make David king. 39 And they were there with David for three days, eating and drinking, for their brothers had made preparation for them. 40 And also their relatives, from as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, came bringing food on donkeys and on camels and on mules and on oxen, abundant provisions of flour, cakes of figs, clusters of raisins, and wine and oil, oxen and sheep, for there was joy in Israel.”1 Chronicles 12:13-14, English Standard Version (ESV).   All these people came together with one purpose and that is why for there was joy in Israel.  There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 1 John 4:18 ESV” Romans 13:9-10 ESV.  Saints if we could all come together in love and purpose there will be joy among God’s people.  We will keep the first thing first.  That is salvation through the blood of the Lamb.  If we can leave our own agenda out of our prayers and pray together in one mind asking for God’s will to be done.  If we can all stop gossiping and making fun of our leaders, whether in family, at work, in church or government.  If we can pray together asking that God’s will be done on earth as in heaven.  Then there will be Joy amongst God’s people!

For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” Romans 13:9-10 ESV..
